Visit a former iron foundry transformed into a digital art center. Experience immersive exhibitions where artworks are projected onto massive walls with accompanying music.
For immediate entry to the current immersive exhibition, we recommend booking an open-dated or specific time-slot ticket via Tiqets or Headout, as on-site sales are often suspended for sold-out sessions. Your ticket includes access to the main long program, a shorter contemporary feature, and the immersive studio experience. If the primary calendar is full, checking Headout's inventory often reveals last-minute availability for evening slots. This is not a traditional museum; it is a digital art center located in a former 19th-century foundry where 140 laser projectors and a high-fidelity spatialized sound system transform the floor-to-ceiling surfaces into a living canvas. Visitors can move freely through the space or sit on the floor to experience a 360-degree sensory loop that typically lasts about an hour. It is an ideal escape from the rain and a perfect introduction for those who prefer dynamic visual narratives over static gallery walls. The program rotates annually, featuring masters from Van Gogh to modern icons, ensuring every visit offers a completely different atmosphere. There are no fixed seats, and the fluid environment encourages a non-linear way of consuming art that appeals to children and non-specialists alike.

The Atelier des Lumières is housed within the walls of the Chemin-Vert foundry, an industrial treasure established in 1835 by the Plichon brothers. For over a century, this site was the beating heart of Parisian iron production, fueling the city's architectural transformation during the industrial revolution. After closing its doors in 1929 and remaining dormant for decades, the site was rediscovered by the Culturespaces foundation, which recognized the creative potential of its vast volumes and raw industrial textures. The architectural restoration focused on preserving the skeletal remains of the factory: the high ceilings, the iconic chimney, and the large cylindrical tanks that now serve as canvases for digital projections. Opened in 2018 as Paris's first digital art center, it represents a shift in 21st-century cultural consumption known as AMIEX (Art & Music Immersive Experience). Unlike white-cube galleries, the Atelier uses the industrial heritage of the 11th arrondissement to create a dialogue between the hard iron of the past and the fluid light of the present. This 2,000-square-meter space serves as the global flagship for a new movement that democratizes high art by removing the barriers of traditional curation, allowing the architecture itself to become a sentient participant in the artistic program.
